Why does the switch not turn off the light when a key is pressed?

The light switch stopped turning off the light (that is, turned on or off, the light continues to light). On advice - changed the switch (or switch) to a new one and stripped the wires. The problem remains the same - the light just burns! Help - what further could be the question?

Need more information on this. Did the switch work, and then suddenly stopped, or after replacing the wiring and installing it, it ceased to fulfill its functions due to improper disconnection of the electrical box. Maybe you have a chandelier with a remote control and just the relay unit sealed up?

The key works in the switch, but the contact did not disconnect, it is stuck, this has happened. The key may turn off, but the contacts are not open.

And if nothing has changed after replacing the switch? Does the light continue to burn?

Good evening! Yesterday I turned on the switch (light), but could not turn it off! I had to twist the bulbs, but the switch remained on! What should I do?

Disassemble the switch and see what is wrong with it, repair if possible. Or just replace it.

Tell me such a problem, I changed the spotlight, mistakenly put 12 V instead of 220 V, when turned on, the lamp exploded completely, and the switch is constantly on. and the light from the switch does not turn off. (When pressed, it returns back to on). How to be treated ?!)

Hello! It is necessary to disassemble the switch, watch its contacts, it may be stuck. In extreme cases, change to a new one. For starters, you can obviously remove the switch in another room, put in the place of the one with which the problem is, and if the problem is solved, then buy a new light switch.

Kind. A single-clave switch in the bathroom with an indicator. Connected 4 ice lamps and a fan. I worked for a year without any problems. But once I didn’t specifically hit the switch with static electricity. And that’s all, light 4 ice lamps are constantly on, and the fan only when this switch is on. What about him? Thank.

I have a similar problem. When the light was turned on, something banged. The light went out, knocked out a shield on the distributor. I looked at the light bulb - it burned out. I tried to change it - it is on, but now the light does not turn off.I do not understand what the problem is with the wiring or the switch. I’m afraid that I don’t have to hollow the walls, they just made repairs, the wiring is all new.

to start, try to remove the wires from the switch - the light goes out, then the switch stuck in the on position - it is for replacement.

I have a strange situation, I left the bathroom, turned off the light, and let the light flash, almost like welding, I flicked the switch, in 2 positions, welding stopped, but the lamp still burns in both positions of the switch. I pull out the wire that is responsible for this particular lamp from the 2 toggle switch with the LED light switch, the lamp goes out. I decide to put a new switch, the same, but the new one and the color a little different, the situation is 1 in 1. The left button in the corridor turns on the light, and the second one that should turn on / off the light in the bathroom does not respond to switching. The LEDs in the switch both light normally, do not blink, the right one is only dimmer, but this is already such a quality of performance. The switch - Double one way switch - illuminated by Lezard, is immediately located in Google.

After 3 hours, I screwed the bulb back into the cartridge, the light did not light up ... it was corrected itself. Fig knows what it was, the switch did not touch, but now it is normally on / off. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that someone can steal electricity?

It is unlikely, of course, that this is connected with the theft of electricity. More like that somewhere the wires got wet. Have you been drowned recently?

The house is old, although the roof was changed a year ago or something, it is possible, of course, that they drown it from time to time, but this is not visible visually. This has already been repeated several times, after I came home and saw that the light was on in the bathroom with the switch turned off, now I unscrew the light bulb. Yesterday, in general, something incredible happened at night, I cut off the light, it doesn’t turn off and I hear that somewhere the wiring sparks, I turn on the light with a switch - silence, it doesn’t spark anything, with the lamp turned off and the switch turned on, it also sparked, I left the switch on at night, so as not to sparkle. By the way, the bathroom has a power outlet that only works when the light in the bathroom is on, often now I use a carrier that hangs on the pipe under the ceiling. I use LED lamps, not incandescent.

Check the distribution box - maybe the insulation has turned into dust, let it be short somewhere and turn on with the switch turned off and sparkle

The switch stopped turning off the light. I thought something in it broke, disconnected the wires, but the light was still on !!! The indicator shows the phase on both wires, i.e. and on the incoming and outgoing (off. single-key). Has anyone come across this?
