Overview of RCD Eaton xPole Home HNC-25/2/003

Consider another Eaton protection device. Today we have a review of the xPole Home HNC-25/2/003 residual current circuit breaker or the usual words of RCDs. The purpose of the device is to respond to earth leakage currents, instantly turning off the problem area in which the insulation was damaged, or when a person touches the damaged place. In this article, we provided a description of the characteristics, appearance, and the connection diagram of the Eaton residual current circuit breaker.

Appearance

The bipolar UZO xPole Home HNC-25/2/003 is made of dense, smooth white plastic. On the front side there is a power lever and a TEST button, under it a window of a status indicator of the release. To connect to the conductors there are screw clamps, two on top (1, N) and two on the bottom (2, N). You can connect a wire with a cross section of up to 35 mm.kv.

Also, the front of the case on the front panel provides general information about the RCD. xPole Home H - series, NC - differential current switch, 25 - rated current of the device, 2 - number of poles, 003 - 0.03 mA rated current of the differential release.

Specifications

The main characteristics of the RCD Eaton xPole Home HNC-25/2/003 we have provided below:

  • Rated voltage and frequency of alternating current: 230/400 V, 50 Hz.
  • Rated operation current 30 mA.
  • TEST button voltage range: 196 to 264 V.
  • Breaking capacity: 6 kA.
  • Permissible operating temperature: -25 ° C to + 40 ° C.
  • Degree of protection IP40.
  • Work resource: 4 thousand cycles for electrical components and 20 thousand cycles for mechanical ones.

It is important to note that this line of residual current circuit breakers is manufactured with a rated current of 25 to 63A, which allows you to select the appropriate rating, depending on the installed machines in the shield.

Wiring diagram

On the right side is a sticker from the manufacturer with a connection diagram and information. The residual current circuit breaker is installed on a standard DIN rail. According to the manufacturer, xPole Home HNC-25/2/003 can connect the input to both the upper terminals and the lower ones. The location of the device is not critical to position in space.

Also, according to the instructions from the manufacturer, the differential current switch has functional independence from the supply voltage. RCD installation allows you to upgrade existing networks by installing them in power supply systems, making them fireproof and eliminating electrical injuries.

Important: residual current circuit breakers do not respond to short circuit currents or objects falling between phase and zero. Also, RCDs will not protect the wiring from overload!

In order to make sure that the device is working, it is necessary at least once every six months, by pressing the TEST button to carry out a circuit breaker test. In dusty or humid conditions, inspection should be carried out at least once a month.
