How to install an electric convector on the wall?

When we talked about autonomous heating apartment, drew your attention to the fact that electroconvectors are one of the most suitable heaters. With the help of such devices, it is possible to economically warm not only individual unheated rooms (for example, a balcony), but even the whole house. Next, we will briefly consider how to install an electric convector on a wall with your own hands, providing not only instructions, but also a visual video lesson.

Installation instructions

So, if you decide to install the electric convector on the wall, proceed as follows:

  1. Unpack the convector and turn it on the back side.
  2. Remove the mount.
  3. Lean the removed bracket against the wall in a suitable place (where the installation will be made) and mark the mounting holes with a marker.
  4. If the wall is wooden, fasten the mount using wood screws (length 40-45 mm). If the wall is concrete, pre-drill the holes with a perforator, then drive in the dowels and install the frame, as in the photo below.Mounting bracket

As you can see, installing an electric convector on a wall is not difficult, the connection is even more so. However, there are several nuances that need to be considered during installation, which we discuss below.

Some useful tips

Sometimes it becomes necessary to install an electric convector on the balcony, the interior of which is represented by PVC panels. Since the weight of an electric convector can reach several kilograms, you must understand that plastic can not withstand such a load. In this case, it is recommended choose an electric convector compact size, for example, as a model of Nobo company in the photo below.Wall heater made of PVC panels

Another nuance is the correct placement of the convector. Typically, an instruction is included with the purchase, in which the manufacturer himself determines the optimal distances from the floor, windows and other objects. If in your case there is no such information, install the electric heater, taking into account the following norms and rules:

  • height from the floor 20 cm;
  • clearance from the wall 20 mm;
  • lateral distance to the nearest objects - 20 cm;
  • top and front clearance of at least half a meter;
  • outlet no closer than 30 cm.

Special attention should be paid to connecting the electric convector to the network. As a rule, the power of the devices does not exceed 3 kW, so if you have modern wiring in your house or apartment, feel free to connect the power from the outlet (they usually withstand up to 3.5 kW). If you want to hide the cords and make a neat installation, you can even connect the electric convector directly to the mains without a plug and without an outlet.To do this, you will have to pull a separate cable from the junction box or even the shield (if you decide to make a separate heating line). Cable cross section in this case, select 2.5 mm2.
